Kickin’ Back

I’m pretty down on Yahoo! lately and any products Y! so after I canceled my Geoshitty account, I thought I’d upload music to my Indie site… but it doesn’t work like that. I can upload it with the ftp client. I can put a link to the song in my blogs, but it has to be typed exactly as it is uploaded. Holy shyte! How the hell am I going to remember that? Anyway, I know there are a ton of music sites out there, but as I was stumbling around on the internet tonight, I came across a fabulous place called Anywhere.FM. It’s a player I can upload songs to that acts like a radio player. There are already 5,500,000 songs there but of course… I want my own. :) There’s a desktop loader you can download to upload an entire folder at a time, and the option to pop the music player out of the window. I think it’s just cool as can be, and there are several skins to pick from. Signing up was as easy as entering a user name one time and a password one time. That was it! No more info!!! KJ says check it out. http://anywhere.fm/snowlobster
Preston loved his laptop I bought for him (with Mother’s help). LOVED it. I loved it, too… especially when I was computerless while dog sitting last weekend. Here in Dallas I had several open connections to reach the internet, and I was hoping it would be that way for Preston in Texarkana, but no. There were 2 secure connections on the back porch at my parent’s house in a nice neighborhood. So! Like any good Mom, I loaded him up in the car and we headed to the Sprint store where I bought a laptop connect card. I had to add another line to my account, but since I’m a “Preferred Customer” it wasn’t a problem. (FOOLS!) Preston’s a happy boy, I’m a happy Mom and he has vowed to reimburse me for the $60 per month it’s going to cost to run the damn thing. Now I understand that he can connect through his cell phone? I hope not, I hope that’s not possible with the Katana phone he has now. A Blackberry I can understand. Since he’ll be starting college this time next year (even though he’s taken college classes in high school for 3 years), I figured it’d be a good idea to go ahead and buy the laptop now since I got such a good deal on it at Micro Center. I also got him an Epson printer/fax/copier, an anit-virus program called NOD32 that runs on half the power of Norton or McAfee, a carrying case, and the extended warranty. Mom already had a copy of MSOffice, so I installed that . No excuses now, right?
I’m copy and pasting some of my old blogs to this site. I figure I better get started doing that and try to do a few a day. I’m sure they won’t all be up here because well… I’ve changed, and things that disturbed me before aren’t so disturbing anymore. Most of them are crap anyway, but it’s a piece of my life that I don’t want to be totally trashed. I never thought I’d leave Y360, and now I look back and don’t see how come I stayed as long as I did except for the incredible friendships I made there. That will never die.
Tonight I’m just sitting around relaxing after having been gone away from home for so long. Copper was so tired after the 3 nights with Molly, Bandit & Tori and then the trip to and from Texarkana that he zonked out under the covers at 2pm on Monday afternoon. Finally at around 9:30 that night, I went and felt under the covers for him to see if his heart was still beating. He groaned a little puppy groan when I disturbed him, shifted his position and went right back to sleep. The dogs gave me the nicest gift today and a card with much appreciation in it. $$$ I’m supposed to dog sit again around Christmastime and well… that’s fine by me. :)

I use Nod its great, was the only anti V that picked up the horrible destructive virus that literally ate Adrian’s files (took pics with the didgi cam) and of course because of the network my comp got it too
I use File Den http://www.fileden.com/ for files, all my downloads on my site are hosted there as well as Mp3’s
You use a PHP right? the downloads/uploads should be in the C panel you should be able to copy paste the links too.
A lot of my old blogs are on my Blogger but same as you, a LOT aren’t worth keeping I looked at em and though WTF I write that sh*t for LoL

Crap. I just spilled an “empty” mandarin orange cup onto my neck. I guess it won’t balance on my body so I can type here! LOL
Thanks for the anywhere.fm info. I’ve been reading about it, but haven’t checked it out yet…
I also use fileden… I really enjoy projectplaylist.com too!

ugh…i still have to migrate all of my shit too…but for some reason, ever since I deleted all contacts on 360, it takes me forever to navigate my old page. It’s punishing me.
So! Browse the Wordpress plugins, I’m sure you’ll find one that does music easier. I’m going to be posting another nerd blog on blog tools soon.
Glad the son liked his new laptop…now when are you going to invest in one for Mom?

So..KJ, finally I got around to this site. I tried many times before but it wouldn’t load.
I’ve stored my whole Y360 blog (the first lake-flurries) to my harddrive. Took me about an hour. I’ll eventually save the other one too. Just in case…
There are so many sites nowadays where you can store files of all kinds and make those players.. Snapdrive.net, Esnip.com etc..
First I got the impression you’d left Yahoo totally but noticed tonight you’re still on Mash.
I’m still hanging around there…waiting to see what will happen.

I tell ya, yahoo just sucks anymore. All week long it has been running so slow or not letting me off of my homepage. I have been moving/backing up my stuff for some time starting with when I closed my other 360 page, but at this point - I’m just sick of it. lol
I think I’ve officially tried them all - Wordprss, blogger, myspace, Multiply, God only knows what else; haha. But Multiply seems good and blogger is a great back up blog (so this crap with yahoo doesn’t happen again).
We bought the girls both laptops also and I am so glad we did. Their desk tops were slow and getting old and with me now living out of town I wanted to be sure we could still communicate. Texting isn’t always enough for me and they don’t have many minutes on their plans (we have different carriers).
Anyway, I notice I’ve written a stinkin novel here so I’ll leave now. lol Come see me when you get a chance! :)
