Since Copper's accident a lot of really wonderful things have happened in my life.  It's almost as if God is saying…  "Oops?!  I'm sorry, Kerri… I totally dropped the ball on that one.  I'm going to make it up to you.  No Copper, but I'm doing the best I can."  And I'm saying, "Good!  Cuz You really are MEAN sometimes!"

Did I do enough?  Did I do what was right?  Should I have taken him the other way in the house instead of up the steps?  How will I ever walk in my room again?  The sheets still smell like him.  Who’s going to watch football with me?  Who am I going to fight on the bed with?  Who’s gonna love me like no human ever could?  Should I have taken  him to a chiro?  Should I have spent the $3,500+ to have that surgery?  Would it have worked?  Were the people that checked him out qualified?  Should I have not fed him from my plate?  It’s all my fault.  It’s all the vet’s fault.  God is mean.  How can I forgive myself?  Did he know I loved him?

Copper, I am so sorry I failed you!  Forgive me for everything! Did he know he was going to die?  Is he happy?  Is he here with me somewhere?  I’m losing my fucking mind.  My Mom told me these maddening thoughts would happen, but how can I repel them?  How can I possibly go on without him?  What do I do with his collar?  His beds?  His kennel, his bowls, his clothes, his toys, his steps, his pet crate, his blankets?  WHAT?! This song is looping, looping, looping…. “It seems now that nothing is right, there’s nothing but pain. I don’t feel right on this sad night.  Lord, I’ve got thistles growing in my pillow. Hold on. Give me one more chance.” Or just give me some sleep and another week under my belt.  I’m a Spartan woman and right now I’m angry and confused as to why God would do this to my innocent boy.  Fucking inferior German engineering….

Copper had to be put down last night after sustaining a spinal injury. I'm in disbelief and my heart is broken into a million pieces. He was my best friend and he loved me like no human could. He died in my arms at the Pet Hospital in Carrollton after one last truck ride with the window down. He blew a disc in his back after our daily walk as he was bounding up the stairs at our apartment and his legs went out from under him. The doctor said even with a very expensive surgery his chances of walking again were 50/50. He was brave although he was in a great deal of pain.

Copper loved everyone. He was a social creature and never met a stranger. People adored him, and his personality was delightful and friendly. He was so soft and cuddly. He enjoyed his squeaky toys, sleeping, his rubber Kong bone, licking plates clean, licking people's (especially Cody's) faces and doing his "wienernational" speed racing around the speedway that is the kitchen and living room. He was so full of life, and it's so hard to wrap my mind around him being gone. He was only 4. 

Copper is survived by his brothers Cody & Preston Moss, grandparents Joy and Richard Raney, his BFF Marco, roommates and BFF's Angela, Halloween, and Meisha. Many thanks to Angela for driving us in the wee hours of morning to the Pet Hospital, but I couldn't watch him suffer another minute. He had an adoring fan base at http://snow-lobster.com/copper/. I want to thank Kerri Fox and Lila for their special friendship with Copper.

Copper will be cremated and laid to rest in the communal pet cemetery in Carrollton, Tx.

Good-bye Copper. I loved you more than any dog I ever had. You were my greatest little man. You were proud and brave to the very end.

Anyway, I've been wanting to shoot this for a long time so today was the day for that.  There are 2 versions, I like the hideous green one the best.  heh  My collection isn't complete, but it's a healthy one.
